Leaf Browser

About, Privacy & Disclaimer

This is an independent reference site about Leaf Browser, the lightweight ChromeOS browser app that became popular with Chromebook users and students. Leaf Browser was an experimental, ChromeOS-focused project built around a simple idea: browsing should feel lighter, cleaner and easier to control, with a separate browsing window and tidy tab organization that suited the way Chromebook users actually work.

What began as a small, practical browsing tool spread through schools, forums and student communities as a fast way to open the web on managed Chromebooks. Over time, however, ChromeOS, school filtering systems and managed-device policies became much stricter, and the original Leaf Browser stopped working reliably. The project is no longer actively maintained, and there is no current official Leaf Browser site or supported download. This site exists to explain what Leaf Browser was, what happened to it, and what works now.

This is an independent information site. It is not the official Leaf Browser project page, and it is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google, ChromeOS, the Chrome Web Store, any school or the original Leaf Browser developers. Product and company names mentioned are the property of their respective owners.
